ENTRY

Kuhn Riddle Architects, Amherst, MA

The Furcolo Lecture Hall comprises a 3,700 SF renovation and accessibility upgrade that includes reconfiguration of the auditorium entry to provide a welcoming new entry portal. New interior finishes, tablet-arm fixed seating, and installation of new MEP/fire protection systems.

The renovated Lecture Hall functions primarily as a classroom and lecture space for the College of Education, and will be used as a swing space for the campus at large during renovation and upgrading of other lecture halls. The space is primarily intended to be used for spoken word events. It also supports film, music, theater, and interactive discussions.

Acoustics were critical for the space to function effectively for these multiple uses. New sound reinforcement and LED lighting were also designed to be flexible and support a range of activities.
