The WMAIA Design Awards program is held every two years, in even-numbered years. This awards program alternates with the Green Giants Award program, which is held every two years in odd-numbered years.
In 2020, the WMAIA Design Awards program was held in conjunction with the Western Massachusetts Section of the Boston Society of Landscape Architects, and was sponsored by Pella Products and Keiter Builders. The Awards were juried by three New England architects: Susan Phillips-Hungerford AIA, Principal of Susan Philips-Hungerford Architects in Peterborough NH; Andrew Schlatter AIA, Vice President for Facilities Management and Planning at Bennington College and Treasurer for AIA ; and Kathryn Wise AIA, Manager of Architectural Services for LLBean and is Vice-President AIA Maine.
The Awards were presented at the WMAIA’s Annual Meeting (this year held on Zoom), on December 9, 2020.

Since 2013, the Green Giants Award Program has been honoring the work of trades people, educators, and owners/program directors who help build, teach about, envision and fund the green buildings in Hampshire, Hampden, Franklin, and Berkshire counties.
The program is held every two years, in odd-numbered years. It alternates with the WMAIA Design Awards Program, which is held every two years in even-numbered years.
