Jones-Whitsett Architects, Greenfield, MA

108 Grove Street is a 4 unit condominium development offering an alternative housing model to the high demand Northampton housing market. Inspired by changes in urban residential zoning rules, the developer intentionally set out to develop small, modernist condominium units that would appeal to working couples and empty nesters seeking to live within walking distance of downtown Northampton.

Like a traditional two family placed on its side, each two story structure is made up of two single-story dwellings, an upper and a lower dwelling. The top unit wraps “up and over” the lower unit, and juts intentionally towards the mountains to the south with a prominent cantilevered cubic shape.
