Canstruction, an event in which local architectural firms design and construct projects utilizing non perishable foods. all food products are donated to local food service agencies.

Box City, a program conducted by local architects for small children utilizing cardboard boxes to construct a community designed and built by the children.

SDAT, (Sustainable Design Assessment Team) is a community assistance program that focuses on the principles of sustainability. SDATs bring teams of volunteer professionals (such as architects, urban designers, planners, hydrologists, economists, attorneys, and others) to work with community decision-makers and stakeholders to help them develop a vision and framework for a sustainable future.  WMAIA has participated in SDATs in three of our communities: Northampton, Pittsfield and Holyoke.  The Holyoke program was funded under an AIA150 grant.
